Happy New Year! Considering that I didn't keep all of my "goals" from
last year, I am not going to compile a list. However, I AM GOING to lose this baby weight...that is not only a goal, it is a fact--this is me being positive. I have to. I want to feel good and right now I don't but that is going to change in 2011.
A big part of my problem is my husband. Don't get me wrong I love him but he is no help in this department. He LOVES buffalo wings, eats hot cookies almost every night at 10:30 pm, rarely exercises and has had a 6 pack since he was 10! Where is his sympathy baby weight? Where is his I just turned 30 and gained 10lbs weight? Ok....I am done now.
On another note, we are really bringing in 2011 with a bang.....Cohen has RSV! This is my first experience with RSV and I have never had a newborn (sort of) this sick. Let me tell you, it is heartbreaking. We have been to the Doctor everyday the for the past 3 days and fortunately Cohen's oxygen levels continue to be around 100% and his lungs are clear. Don't get me wrong....little guy is sick, he has a NASTY cough and a super runny nose but it looks like we are going to avoid a hospital stay.
Below is a list of things that our last 3 days have consisted of:
This has been Cohen's best friend for the last few days. It is an electric nasal aspirator....and it plays music. What more could you want than to listen to twinkle little star while getting all the snot sucked out of your head? It has definitely made this process much easier, it works like a vacuum cleaner and Cohen actually seems to enjoy it!!
Breathing Treatments GALORE!
TONS of pumping since Cohen isn't nursing very well.
Humidifier.....speaks for itself.
We definitely have not had any help from this nifty little gadget! I HAD to have this fancy thermometer. It has 3 different attachments (under tongue, under arm and rectal). It also has a little chart on the back that tells you what is considered a fever for each attachment. I just knew this was going to be my new favorite thing....WRONG! I have yet to get an accurate temperature from it. I check it with this and it says 96 degrees and then with the cheap-o one that I have had for 6 years and it says 100.9.....total waste of money!
So.....that is all we have been doing. I have not left the house except to go to the Doctor and have yet to start at the gym--I have been way to busy sucking snot, administering breathing treatments, pumping milk and all that fun stuff!
Happy New Year!
