Happy 3 Month Birthday Cohen!

Yesterday was Cohen's 3 month birthday!  Wow....I need him to not grow so fast.
I had a much harder time getting cute pictures of him this time.  He kept falling over.....and would not stop looking at his feet.

Cohen wears a size 2 diaper and size 3-6 month clothes.
He doesn't go to the Doctor at 3 months so I am not sure exactly how much he weighs....but I am guessing that it is around 14 lbs.
He seems really long to me.  Some of his 3-6 month clothes are short on his legs.  Maybe he will have my long legs and Eric's long torso and be super tall!
He is still pretty content and happy most of the time.  Especially if you are giving him attention.  He LOVES to be talked to.
He is still sleeping through the night!  YAY!  I was so worried that the whole RSV thing would totally mess his sleep habits up but he had no problems.

I have been wanting to make Cohen another blanket for a while.....and just have not had time.  I finally just let the house be a big mess and made it today.  I LOVE how it turned out.
Happy 3 month birthday Cohen!
Mommy loves you!

Ummm....you left our baby? In the car?

We have a routine when it comes to Church.  Every Sunday Eric drops me, Gavin and Nolen off under the breezeway (so I can take them to their classes), parks the car and then brings the baby in and gets our seat in the Sanctuary.
This past Sunday we did the usual, except when I got to the Sanctuary....I didn't see Cohen.  Eric was just standing there....singing his heart out happy as could be.  I said, "Ummm....Eric?  Where is the baby?"  He looked at me, dropped his head, said "In the car!" and calmly walked out to go get him.
He was only out there for a few minutes....and the doors were locked--not that it makes me feel any better.
He said that he was sleeping and was so quiet that he completely forgot about him.  I guess he is still not used to having 3 kids.  Luckily, he has me to remind him!

Cohen Giggles!

A few nights ago, I caught Cohen giggling on video. It isn't with my video camera so its not the best quality video. He is just SO adorable....we are all so in love with him.

Nolie Polie is 4 Years Old!!

Nolen turned 4 on January 8th.  We had a very laid back day.  After having a baby in October, we decided to take a break from Birthday Parties!
I made him waffles for breakfast and then he wanted pizza for lunch.  We went to Pizza Inn because he wanted to go to "the pizza place with the guy", but he didn't eat all that well (I think he was still full from his big breakfast).  Then we went and saw Tangled, which we loved.  Gavin kept saying it was a girl movie and he didn't want to see it, but he laughed the whole way through and even though he didn't want to admit it....he really liked it.

Then we came home and Nolen wanted "trees" for dinner.  He ate an entire head of steamed broccoli!
We had cupcakes and sang to him.

He opened his presents and as long as it has some "guys" in it....he is happy!

Nolen is an amazing little boy!  He is so sweet and sensitive.  If he gets in trouble, it breaks his heart.....but he still gets in trouble!  Whenever you get on to him he will say, "you broke my heart" or "that's not very nice" and it is always followed up with a "but do you still love me?"
He constantly tells us he loves us (literally 20 times a day).  He says, "I love you bigger than the oceans, bigger than the skies, bigger than the whole wide world and to the moon and back. Any many hands and boots and feet (and whatever else he thinks of).  Then he expects you to repeat it back to him word for word and if you get it wrong, he says "Nope, try again!"
He is ALL about playing.  He always has a "guy" in his hands and can play for HOURS by himself.  He has an imagination like I have never seen.
He is a great brother.  He looks up to Gavin and they play really well together (most of the time) and is just so sweet and gentle with Cohen.
He is such a joy to our family.  We are so blessed by him.  Even though he isn't the baby around here anymore, he still melts his Mama's heart!

Happy New Year and RSV!

Happy New Year!  Considering that I didn't keep all of my "goals" from last year, I am not going to compile a list.  However, I AM GOING to lose this baby weight...that is not only a goal, it is a fact--this is me being positive.  I have to.  I want to feel good and right now I don't but that is going to change in 2011.
A big part of my problem is my husband.  Don't get me wrong I love him but he is no help in this department.  He LOVES buffalo wings, eats hot cookies almost every night at 10:30 pm, rarely exercises and has had a 6 pack since he was 10!  Where is his sympathy baby weight?  Where is his I just turned 30 and gained 10lbs weight?  Ok....I am done now.
On another note, we are really bringing in 2011 with a bang.....Cohen has RSV!  This is my first experience with RSV and I have never had a newborn (sort of) this sick.  Let me tell you, it is heartbreaking.  We have been to the Doctor everyday the for the past 3 days and fortunately Cohen's oxygen levels continue to be around 100% and his lungs are clear.  Don't get me wrong....little guy is sick, he has a NASTY cough and a super runny nose but it looks like we are going to avoid a hospital stay.
Below is a list of things that our last 3 days have consisted of:

This has been Cohen's best friend for the last few days.  It is an electric nasal aspirator....and it plays music.  What more could you want than to listen to twinkle little star while getting all the snot sucked out of your head?  It has definitely made this process much easier, it works like a vacuum cleaner and Cohen actually seems to enjoy it!!
Breathing Treatments GALORE!

TONS of pumping since Cohen isn't nursing very well.

Humidifier.....speaks for itself.
We definitely have not had any help from this nifty little gadget!  I HAD to have this fancy thermometer.  It has 3 different attachments (under tongue, under arm and rectal).  It also has a little chart on the back that tells you what is considered a fever for each attachment.  I just knew this was going to be my new favorite thing....WRONG!  I have yet to get an accurate temperature from it.  I check it with this and it says 96 degrees and then with the cheap-o one that I have had for 6 years and it says 100.9.....total waste of money!
So.....that is all we have been doing.  I have not left the house except to go to the Doctor and have yet to start at the gym--I have been way to busy sucking snot, administering breathing treatments, pumping milk and all that fun stuff!
Happy New Year!
