Time Flies.....

Seriously....time is flying by and I want it to stop.  I have been a feeding machine and between that and having 2 other kids and a house to try to keep up--things have been a little crazy! 
Not to mention the fact that my husband was out of town for almost 2 weeks.....and I was pretty much on my own with 3 boys. Thank God I did have help from an amazing Mother In Law and a fabulous 16 year old--Carley! 
I haven't had a lot of free time to blog but I have a lot to catch up on!

Halloween!
Gavin, Eric and Papaw went to Cincinnati to watch the Dolphins play the Bengals.  Gavin chose to do that over trick or treating and they all had a great time.  When they got home, Eric sent him outside with his bucket and had him ring the doorbell and filled his bucket with candy....so he got to do both--sort of!

Nolen was a Knight.....I think he was THE most adorable night ever!

An Impromptu Photoshoot

I have a friend who is an amazing photographer.  She contacted me and told me that she had found these old suitcases and wanted to photograph a newborn in them!  I thought that was a fabulous idea and since I am always up for pictures of my little ones.....I jumped all over it.  They turned out AMAZING!

Cohen's Birth

I already did a post about Cohen's birth....but here is the story in pictures!

Breaking Glass!

Our first night at home with Cohen was pretty rough.  He had a hard time sleeping and so did we.  However, the next night he did great.....he nursed at 10:30, 2:30 and then again at 7:00.  Towards the end of my pregnancy I was not sleeping well between going to the bathroom and just being miserably uncomfortable.....so this was the most sleep I had had in a while. 
Then last night happened.  We went to be around 10:30 and I nursed the baby, I put him in his co-sleeper next to our bed.  He was whining and wouldn't go to sleep so I got him out of the crib and put him in the snuggle nest in our bed.  We finally fell asleep and then out of nowhere we here this crashing sound and glass breaking.  It scared me speechless, literally I could not form words.  Eric went into protector mode, came flying across the bed, tripped over the co-sleeper (breaking one of the legs on it and knocking it over) and ran out of the room.  He then realized that he didn't have any clothes on (my Mom is in town) and so he ran back in to put on shorts, again tripping over the co-sleeper, grabbed his gun and ran down the stairs. 
Turns out our clock that was over the mantle fell off the wall, making a whole lot of noise and breaking the glass on it....which went everywhere!  It scared us so bad, we thought someone was breaking in our home.  As we were talking about what happened, we realized that had Cohen been in the co-sleeper he would have been seriously hurt when Eric accidentally knocked it over.  I believe that God was protecting our precious baby last night....how many times does he save us from bad things happening to us and we don't even know it?  Thank you Jesus!!!

Cohen Miles Gifford is here!

Cohen Miles Gifford was born on October 18, 2010 at 12:23 pm.  He weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 20 inches long. 

My c-section was scheduled for 7:00 am, we had to be at the hospital at 5:00.  We were getting all prepped and then found out about 6:00 that it had been re-scheduled for 12:00.  I was so bummed.  After being dilated for a month and not going into labor on my own....I was so ready to get him out. 

The c-section went sooo much better with Cohen than with Nolen.  The anesthesiologist was great--I had told him about my experience with Nolen and he assured me that I would not be in pain and I wasn't.

Two of my friends, Jody and Joscelyn came to visit.  Joscelyn is a photographer and took these amazing pictures.  I am sooo in love with them......I melt every time I look at them.

He is nursing like a champ.  He nursed about 20 minutes after he was born and latched on great.

He is such a great baby!  We are all just completely in love with him.  The boys cannot get enough of him.  We are just trying to cherish each and every moment because it goes by sooo fast.  We are so blessed.





Random

Don't you love Nolen's bib?  He is practicing for the baby.  He decided that he needed a bib to eat his ravioli's.....yes, he is 3.

Gavin lost his 2nd tooth 2 nights ago.  It was his other bottom middle one....and the permanent one was coming in behind it just like last time....what is the deal with that?

Nolen got 2 of his fingers smashed in the bathroom door at school today....they called me and when I got there he was still crying.....it broke my heart.  They suggested I take him to the emergency room because he wouldn't move them.  Instead, I brought him home, gave him tylenol, cleaned them up really good, put neosporin and handy manny bandaids.  He moved his fingers, is totally fine now and informed me that I am "his best mommy ever and sooo gentle."

Gavin got his very first school picture proofs back today.  He looks like a total stud with his little smirk and his arms crossed.  He asked me if I liked them, I said "yes, do you?" and he said "I love them, I can't stop looking at myself."  HA....no ego problems around here.

I am still pregnant, still waiting.....hopefully, my next post will be an adorable picture of our newest addition.

Any time now.......

Well, Eric went on his trip and made it back!  YAY!  I am so happy that he got to go and I did not have the baby while he was gone. 
Now that he is back......I am READY!
None of my clothes fit.  It is much cooler here than it has been.....the few pair of pants I have hurt my stomach because they are too tight.  My stomach hangs out of the bottom of my shirts....which is so attractive.  The most comfortable thing I have is leggings.....but I only have 1 pair and I can't wear those everyday....and I need really long shirts to cover my ever expanding butt...and I only have a few! 
So.....enough complaining. 
We are ready.  I think when you find out you are dilated.....you go into this panic mode and you rush and get all your last minute things done so that you aren't left unprepared when the baby comes.  Then you wait.....and you get really impatient when 2 weeks later you are still just walking around.....4 centimeters dilated but not in labor. 
I go back to the Doctor tomorrow so we will see if anything has changed. 
Eric's Dad says the baby is coming on his birthday, which is Sunday.  That would definitely be neat to not only share a birthday with his Papaw but also have a birthday of 10/10/10.  Also, Friday would be good because then all my boys would be born on the 8th of the month. 
So....we wait.....not so patiently.
