Gavin's School Christmas Party

Gavin had his class party on Monday.  Cohen slept in his car seat like the angel that he is the whole time.  Gavin has really come out of his shell since he started Kindergarten.  I love to watch him with his friends....he is such a joy!

Gavin's class--They decorated kids with toilet paper and made them in to snowmen....it was so cute.

It was fun but we are sooo happy to have a break from school for a few weeks.

Snow and other stuff.....

We had our first snow of the year.  Snow is cold.....and we are not really prepared.  We don't have snow boots, or snow suits.  The boys didn't really enjoy it much this time.  I didn't even get a picture of Gavin playing in it.

Nolen went out, fell face first in the snow and was done.
This is his "Mommy told me to smile, but I'm really cold and I kind of wanna cry" face.
For those of you needing a Baby Cohen fix....here you go.

A Trip to Nashville!

We gave Gavin the choice this year of having a birthday party or going to Nashville and spending the night at the Gaylord. If he chose to go to Nashville he was allowed to take one friend with him. He chose to go to Nashville....and he wanted to take his cousin Wyatt (no surprise there).

Nolen, Wyatt and Gavin at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel
We went to Snow....which was a big pile of very cold snow.....

We saw a few reindeer....
And we went to ICE!
To say it was cold would be a HUGE understatement!  They have to keep it around 9 degrees in there to keep the ice from melting.  On top of all the clothes that we had on....they hand out huge parkas to wear.  It was so cold in there that it literally hurt.
But it was pretty awesome too.....

And did I mention cold???

Gavin is 6!

I cannot believe that Gavin is 6 years old already!  It is crazy to me because I remember SO vividly being "childless" while everyone else was pregnant (or so it seemed).  I remember holidays were much too quiet and I wanted soooo badly to have a home that was noisy and busy.  Wow....did I get what I asked for!  With 2 boys running around and a baby....noisy and busy is an understatement!
Gavin made me a Mommy.....and I hope that he thinks I am a good one.  He tells me all the time that I am "the best Mommy in the whole world"--hopefully he still says that 10 years from now.

Gavin had a pretty low key birthday this year.

He got money....which he thinks is pretty cool!
And....he got a new DS and Mario Kart!
Gavin and Daddy!
We went for Pizza at the ONLY restaurant we know of that Gavin can actually eat pizza at.  He ate every last bite and LOVED it!
Gavin with his Papaw....

Gavin, you are such a joy to our family!  You are soooo smart and funny.  We look so forward to watching you grow and turn into the amazing young man that we know you will be.  We love you!

Oh Christmas Tree!

We threw away our artificial tree last year. It was about 8 years old and it needed to go. We were hoping that Eric would have been able to build us a house by now and were going to get a taller tree. Well, that didn't happen this year so we decided that rather than go buy a new tree to fit in this house we would get a real tree this year.
So....we wanted to get the full experience and go to a tree farm, pick out and cut down our tree.  It was fun and I am so glad that we did it that way.  However, I am an artificial tree lover.  I just think it looks prettier and it is so much easier to decorate.  The bottom branches of a real tree settle and that bothers me.  It was fun though and the boys had a blast.

Sweet Nolie Polie...
Our Big Boy Gavin
My boys looking for the perfect tree.  Notice Nolen frantically running towards me?  All of a sudden he is
terrified of big dogs.  Every time that dog came towards him....he screamed and cried.
Chopping down the tree

Baby Cohen was there too....he was sleeping in the truck though.

The finished product!

Thankful

We were able to go to Florida to spend Thanksgiving with my family this year.  It was great to see everyone and it was great for my family to get to meet Cohen.  He made a great impression!
I am soooo thankful this year.  Last year at Thanksgiving I said that I hoped 2010 would bring a new addition to our family.....and it did!  God blessed us with an uneventful pregnancy and delivery (which is exactly the kind of pregnancy that I wanted).  Cohen is a huge blessing to our family and I am so grateful for my 3 boys!  Wow....I have 3 sons.
I am thankful that God has blessed our family and Eric's business this past year.  In an economy where people are losing everything, Ezekiel Development had the best year it has ever had.  We hope that God will continue to allow us to bless others and know that everything we have is because of him.
I have a great life, an amazing husband and happy, healthy kids.  I am thankful!

Cohen is 1 month old!

Cohen turned one month old on November 18th.  He is growing sooo fast.  I feel like he acts older than he is...and I don't like it one bit.  Since the day he was born, everyone has commented on how alert he is.  He is already holding his head up and smiling like crazy.
At his one month well baby he weighed 10 lbs 6.5 oz !!!!  He weighed 8 lbs 6 oz when he was born and got down to 7 lbs 12 oz before he started gaining.......so he has gained over 2 lbs in less than a month!  He is a big boy just like his brothers were.
Pretty much right on his one month birthday he outgrew his Newborn diapers and his 0-3 month clothes.
His face is starting to fill out and he is developing the ever famous double chin that all my boys have had.
He fits perfectly into our family.  The boys cannot get enough of him.  They will not leave him alone....they are probably driving him crazy with their constant kisses and rubbing of his head.
He sleeps so good.....I keep waiting for it to end.  Since he was born he has woken up one time a night to nurse.  He nurses every night around 10:15 and goes until around 4:30 each morning.
We just LOVE him....he is so precious and we cannot imagine life without him.
